Cockhill Celtic honoured by Donegal County Council – Pic Particular

Cockhill Celtic and their members have been celebrated at a particular Civic Reception held by Donegal County Council on Friday.

The membership was proven recognition for his or her achievement in reaching the FAI Intermediate Cup Last, their constant excellence within the Ulster Senior League and their dedication to selling soccer at an area degree.

The membership was based again within the Seventies and began life as Westbrook Celtic taking part in within the D&D League which coated counties Donegal and Derry. The membership moved to Cockhill in 1974 and have become Cockhill Celtic coming into the Inishowen Soccer League turning into 5 occasions winners of that league. The Membership entered the Ulster Senior League in 2005 the place the Membership dominated successful a complete of 11 Ulster Senior League titles. Within the 2022-2023 season the Membership have been the runners up within the FAI Intermediate Cup coming inside a kick of a ball of bringing the trophy again to the county.

The ceremony was presided over by Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council, Cllr. Martin Harley, Chief Govt John G. Mc Laughlin, and the MC for the night was Mr. Patsy Lafferty, Director of Housing, Company & Cultural Providers.

Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council, Cllr. Martin Harley was delighted to host this Civic Reception acknowledging that “that is an extremely special occasion for the gamers each previous and current, the managers, coaches, all people related to the membership and all their members of the family. He additional acknowledged that “Assist and encouragement of managers, coaches and membership employees play a vital position within the growth of the gamers and the Membership”.

The Chief Govt of Donegal County Council, John G. Mc Laughlin mentioned that “This present bunch of gamers have set a precedent for future generations, demonstrating that by means of perseverance dedication, and exhausting work, we are able to conquer any problem. Their accomplishments function a beacon of hope for our youth, encouraging them to dream huge and attain for the celebs”.

The Membership was offered with a specifically engraved piece together with an official scroll marking the event of the Civic Reception.

The Membership thanked the Council for honouring them on this approach and attendees have been handled to refreshments after the occasion within the Lifford Previous Courthouse.
