The Donegal GAA County Committee has responded to backlash over the distribution of JP and Noreen McManus’s €1 million donation within the county.

Racehorse proprietor JP McManus and his spouse Noreen donated €1 million to all 32 county boards in Eire to spend money on native Gaelic video games.

Nonetheless, the Donegal LGFA claimed the cash was not divided equally between the golf equipment affiliated to the GAA, LGFA and Camogie Associations (CA). Big dissatisfaction was aired at a current assembly of the Donegal LGFA board over the matter.

The Donegal County Board break up the sum between the 41 golf equipment within the county with no distinction made about what number of affiliations they’ve (40 GAA, 37 LGFA, one CA). Every unit is receiving €24,390.

Donegal GAA has at present acknowledged that the division of the funds was shared resolution by the County Committee.

A spokesperson mentioned: “On the County Committee assembly on January tenth, two proposals had been put to delegates: to divide the cash evenly amongst the 41 golf equipment or to divide the cash based on the actions of every membership (dividing the cash by 81).

“County committee made a democratic resolution to divide the cash equally between the 41 golf equipment within the county. The cash has now been distributed.”

Donegal GAA re-iterated “large because of JP & Noreen Mc Manus, their household and their basis for his or her unbelievable generosity”.

They added that they did search readability from the LGFA and the Camogie Board as as to whether there have been any stand-alone LGFA or Camogie golf equipment in Donegal.

Donegal has 41 golf equipment, one stand-alone Hurling membership and one stand-alone Camogie membership.

All different golf equipment are both GAA Golf equipment or Golf equipment based mostly on the ‘One Membership’ mannequin.
