Three hardy Donegal swimmers represented Staff Eire within the first European Ice Swimming Championships final weekend.

The novel occasion took place in Oradea, Romania from 1st-4th February with over 320 swimmers from 27 international locations competing.

Sarah O Malley Daly from Ballyshannon, Ann Morrow and Martin Mc Devitt, each from Rossnowlagh, joined 19 different ice swimmers from throughout the island of Eire taking the plunge.

Ice swimming is swimming in water temperatures of under 5° unassisted carrying solely a silicon cap, a pair of goggles and a typical swim costume.
