The driving force of an articulated lorry who ploughed via a backyard narrowly lacking a household’s dwelling dozed off on the wheel, a courtroom has heard.
Arturas Plutusevicius appeared at Letterkenny Circuit Courtroom in Co Donegal charged with harmful driving.
The courtroom heard that on January third, 2022, a big lorry crashed into the backyard of an area household at Killyverry, Newtwoncunningham.
The lorry got here to a standstill simply inches from the entrance of the home.
No one was injured following the incident however the driver had been taken to Letterkenny College Hospital to be examined.

The 46-year-old accused is charged with harmful driving over the incident which occurred at 6.45am on January 3, 2022.
Solicitor for the accused, Ms Donna Crampsie, mentioned there had been a momentary lapse of focus and that Plutusevicius had dozed off on the wheel.
The lorry had crossed the highway and careered into the entrance backyard of the house.
She mentioned there had been no injury induced to the home however a backyard gate had been broken however that had been remedied since.
Ms Crampsie added that her consumer was very remorseful over the incident.
Her consumer had been off for 2 days earlier than the incident and labored unsociable hours including that it took him a while to get again into his move.
She added that there had been no difficulty with the tachograph on the lorry.
Plutusevicius, of Blackthorn Lodge, Balbriggan, County Dublin, was accompanied to courtroom by his employer.
Responding, Choose Eiteain Cunningham mentioned it was the truth that the accused got here again drained after two days off work which involved her.
